Over the last week my heart has been broken by the news of the Fires in Los Angeles. Having gone to USC for four years and living in Santa Monica after school, I felt compelled to get to work to help as many people as possible. While I knew I could only make a small dent in bringing light during such darkness, I felt in my heart of hearts that action was better than anguish and there is still so much to be done. All commissions from this Valentine’s Day Edition will be donated directly to the LAFD Foundation to thank all of the wonderful men and women (including my cousin!) who put their lives on the line to run into the fires and protect CA. The observation decks offer a unique perspective of Paris, making it one of the most iconic experiences for visitors. Whether during the day or at night, the view from the top of the Eiffel Tower is unforgettable.

Paris any Beyond Tours

Paris any Beyond Tours is one of the things I would highly recommend if you are traveling to Paris, especially with children. One thing that I took for granted is the thought that all tour guides can engage children and find ways to make history and culture fascinating. Well that assumption was incorrect. Our children absolutely enjoyed our tours with Ferit who thought of every detail to make art fun and history memorable. From going out of his way to bring hot chocolate on the car ride to Versailles, to bringing pads of paper for them to recreate their own Monet’s, Ferit made them fall in love with the Musee de Orsay and made Versailles so approachable and fun. The one day we left the hotel in charge of the guide, the children were so disappointed and we found the guide difficult to understand and not engaging with the children. After that experience our three kiddos were sure to let us know that “Ferit was their favorite tour guide of all time and that we were only going with him in the future!” I myself even texted him for more information about the Louvre as he has the most incredible details that go above and beyond simply describing what is in front of you. Be sure to ask him about the Winged Victory at the Louvre. Absolutely fascinating backstory that makes you on the edge of your seat craving more time to learn from him. I wholeheartedly cannot recommend Paris and Beyond more! The best experience that’s leaves us all excited to head back to Paris!

The Making of Madison’s 5th Birthday Dress

A special birthday tradition that stated last year was the creation of a special dress on Madison’s behalf with the team at Charlotte Sy Dimby. This collaboration process has proven to be so special and one of the things Madison and I look forward to most all year! This year is Madison’s fifth birthday and I would say that she is interested in many of the common girly girly things this age values most: princesses, bows and rainbows. In trying to match her dream dress with an end goal aesthetic, Monique and Sybille helped me come up with the most perfect and idyllic dress for the occasion.

While smocking is their specialty and my favorite look, they were able to combine five colors of thread to come up with the most beautiful pastel rainbow bows I have ever seen! To say that I was amazed how much I adored this look!! It is quintessentially girly and fun!

The details that go into the hand-stiched dresses are mind boggling, and to think all of this is done in Madagascar and then sent to Paris before it makes its way to the United States is just incredible.

As always I like to draw inspiration from current Fashion Collections and was inspired by this Zimmerman white top and skirt as well as the pastel rainbow flats from the current Chanel Cruise Collection. Mixing these elements seemed like the perfect way to bring to life Madison’s dream dress and pair an existing outfit for Mom.

We are so lucky to partner with L’Amour shoes for yet another year to have the most perfect white Renato dress shoes to elevate the look for this special occasion.

The other darling detail is that they made a matching dress for Madison’s American Girl Doll! Truly a treasure to be able to have down to the little bloomers! Not a detail goes unnoticed with this talented team!

This year I am thrilled to be adding one of the precious Bimbom Bunnies to Madison’s collection with custom dresses and either a crown or party hat in adornment. I have to tell you, our bunny just arrived and it just might be the most beautiful and adorable thing I have ever seen. The materials are so soft and elegant and the bunny is much larger than I anticipated. I can’t recommend this purchase enough and they are handmade in Poland! Truly a treasure of a keepsake!

I am beyond grateful for the team at Charlotte Sy Dimby for bringing this dream to life and creating the most elegant rainbow birthday dress I have ever seen! Not only is the dress absolute perfection, but the experience brings even more to the table than I could have ever dreamed of.
